Why I translated it

I had never worked on a story set at the heart of the American war of Independence. This novel was a great occasion for me to learn more about this momentous period of history.

My biggest challenge

As a literary translator, my biggest challenge for this book was definitely the nautical vocabulary. I had to search for the right terms to describe parts of the ships and the masts, so as to create the most accurate portrayal possible of a battle at sea.
